Sage Software Helps Club One Build Business Management Muscle With Sage Accpac Business Management Suite

Pleasanton, Calif. - January 24, 2006 - Sage Software announced today another example of how it responds to the needs, challenges, and dreams of small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) with the recent successful deployment of Sage Accpac business management applications at San Francisco, CA based fitness club chain Club One. With the assistance of Sage Accpac business partner Evanikoff Consulting, also located in San Francisco, Club One implemented Sage Accpac ERP and Sage Accpac Insight, combining their business operations and vastly improving the company’s overall reporting structure while still meeting the needs of each of the company’s divisions.
Club One, with 1,500 employees, is a 15-year old company that owns and operates 14 large fitness clubs throughout California. Its Commercial division focuses on customer service, and promoting fitness as a lifestyle. Club One also operates a ProServices division, which designs, develops, and now operates 70 fitness clubs for employees of various, prominent U.S. corporations as managed contract sites.

As the ProServices division grew from 20 to 70 employee clubs, Club One found itself trying to manage multiple, disconnected accounting systems. The ProServices division’s contribution to Club One’s annual revenue had grown to 30 percent, but Club One’s accounting department had neither access to, nor a consolidated view of this entire division’s cash position on a daily basis.

To solve this problem, Club One CFO Carey White says they drew on the strength of Sage Accpac ERP as the basis to consolidate their business management systems. “We needed one system with a unified reporting structure that still met the needs of each of the divisions.” White adds, “I also want to eventually integrate with the club management system, so we chose Sage Accpac.” White continues, “I knew from previous experience that the software was extremely reliable; extremely robust; had a full set of functionalities and capabilities.”

Because Sage Accpac ERP is the core accounting application, Club One is also able to use Sage Accpac Insight to do complex reporting that takes advantage of its single data warehouse/ multi-company model. Reports can be output by company, specially created report groups, and custom account classifications with standardized reporting structure.

Prior to its Sage Accpac implementation, Club One had been using a system that couldn’t provide a single, consolidated financial report to provide unified, consistent, overall financial information on the entire company. Managers were pulling off their own financial reports, but they were never sure how their accounts were rolling up, and what those amounts really meant. “There was too much ease of access,” says Club One Comptroller Bonnie Wheatley. “People would create their own reports and reach the wrong conclusions.” Sage Accpac Insight eliminated the ambiguity of multiple data reporting feeds while unifying the reporting model, but still gave Club One drill-down capability, with the ability to do complex roll-ups.

Concludes White, “Sage Accpac ERP and Sage Accpac Insight give us the flexibility to design a very unusual business model, and put it into one place to get reporting out of it.”

Pleasanton, Calif. - January 17, 2006 - Sage Software announced today another example of how it responds to the needs, challenges, and dreams of small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) with the successful migration and upgrade of the business management system of Win Stuff/Good Stuff LLC of New York, NY from its legacy ACCPAC Plus accounting system to the award-winning Sage Accpac ERP business management system. With the assistance of Sage Accpac business partner Net@Work, also located in New York, this migration exemplifies how Sage Software and its network of more than 6,000 authorized resellers in North America mutually deliver on its “customers for life” strategy, effectively providing the business management solutions SMBs determine they need as they grow and change over time.
Founded in 1988, with 230 employees in 12 locations nationwide, Win Stuff’s skill cranes are found in thousands of restaurants, supermarkets, and malls throughout the country, making Win Stuff one of the largest vertically integrated skill crane vending machine operators in the U.S. They also manufacture all the toys used in their cranes through their subsidiary, Good Stuff.

Win Stuff needed to upgrade from its DOS based accounting system to a state-of-the-art, end-to-end business management system that could handle all of its accounting functions, from payroll and reporting to real-time inventory management.

Win Stuff CEO Sid Banon says when it came time to upgrade, the company took the opportunity to survey other options, but ultimately chose to stick with Sage Software and migrate to Sage Accpac ERP. “We’re very pleased with the improvements we’ve seen since upgrading to Sage Accpac,” says Banon. “It’s easy for new employees to learn, and is adaptable to our various business segments. It’s grown well with us, too. The real-time data it provides has been responsible for improving our employees’ efficiency between 10 and 20 percent.”

Win Stuff/Good Stuff LLC relies on Sage Accpac ERP and its financial modules to effectively manage every aspect of their business. The system automates the company’s general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory control, purchase order, and order entry processes, and each module is completely integrated with each other, providing a truly seamless, end-to-end business management system.

In addition to providing his company data in real-time, streamlined order entry, plus easier calculations and payments of sales commissions, Banon also praises the broad reporting functionality of Sage Accpac ERP.

“Every module in the system has a series of reports that are useful to us. This really helps us run our business more wisely.” He concludes, “After researching the competition, I decided that Sage Accpac did everything we wanted, and was a familiar friend. We’re all very comfortable with it. So Win Stuff stuck with a winner.”
